PIKE Technologies is seeking a highly motivated CNC Prototyping Machinist to join PIKE’s Machine Shop. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, functions, and is self-motivated. One main purpose of this Protoshop is to support our diamond turning shop, which produces mirror quality finish and form with ultra-precise lathes. The right professional machinist will find unique opportunities here with our team of accomplished machinists and engineers. Job Duties

  • Work safely and ensure hazardous conditions are eliminated. Follow company safety procedures
  • Follow all company policies as outlined in the handbook and other company documents
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are met with all work done
  • Ensure output meets required deadlines while executing above
  • Ensure all tools required to complete job are supplied
  • Set-up and run all Mill and Lathe jobs as trained. including first time runs
  • Write and edit programs at the machine. Also using our CAD CAM system
  • Work independently and multi-task
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and upkeep of machining department equipment and tooling
  • Ensure departmental communication is accurate and effective
  • Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime when needed
  • Maintain neat and clean work area

Skills Required

  • Ability to set-up and run jobs including first time runs within quality and efficiency expectations on all 3 axis mills and lathes including live tooling
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and upkeep of equipment and instruments used
  • Ability to read, understand and explain blueprints and GD&T
  • Ability to write and edit programs at the machine proficiently
  • Possess good math skills, ability to read calipers, micrometers and associated measuring equipment
  • Basic computer and writing skills
  • Must have ability to visually inspect parts to company standards
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Personal Traits- Excellent communication skills with positive teamwork and safety attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy while able to multi-task and trouble shoot. Possess the willingness and ability to effectively pass on personal machining knowledge with fellow machinists of lesser ability.

PIKE Technologies is hiring an Optical Assembler to be responsible for our precision optics products following fabrication through shipment. This position requires attention to detail for the handling, cleaning and inspection of lenses and mirrors. 20/20 vision or corrected vision is required along with arm-hand steadiness for quickly and repeatedly adjusting the controls of precision equipment to exact positions. Parts are often very small and require the use of a microscope. The employee shall contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment, often in a clean room. Manufacturing experience in a production environment is a plus.

Tasks include cleaning and assembling optics, alignment with standard equipment such as spindles and indicators, precision painting and gluing, optical metrology, focusing images and inventory management. Critical thinking with the ability to learn and apply math and geometry is required. Computer skills necessary to manage and perform basic analysis of measurement data is a plus (e.g., Excel).

This position provides an opportunity to work with high tech equipment in an interesting scientific environment. Each member of the small team should be excited for new and upcoming projects while balancing established tasks. Keys to success include communication about decision making, independent judgement of quality control, contributing appropriately to writing and testing of procedures, and collaboration with engineers.
