For most samples, a diamond crystal works great using ATR. However, those with a higher refractive index such as carbon black containing materials and some inorganics may not produce quality results using a diamond ATR because the critical angle is not met and spectra will exhibit a shifted baseline and asymmetric absorbance bands. Instead, a germanium plate is required for these higher refractive index materials. Be prepared for all types of samples to be analyzed using ATR in your lab, whether it requires a diamond or germanium crystal, by taking advantage of this special offer today.
GladiATR: High-Perfromance ATR
The GladiATR family is a rugged monolithic diamond ATR with all-reflective optics. The high-performance optical design preserves access to the full spectral range, from the mid-IR into the far-IR. The scratch and fracture resistance surface of the GladiATR’s monolithic diamond offers true durability for the harshest of applications.
With several configurations available, our standard diamond GladiATR may be built to fit your needs. We offer temperature controlled options including two resistively heated versions up to 210 and 300 oC and a liquid circulated ATR plate for heating and sub-ambient temperature measurements. Using PIKE TempPro software a combination of up to 10 temperature ramps and isothermal holds may be easily performed. Typical applications requiring temperature control include monitoring reactions and tracking phase changes.
The GladiATR Vision is the other member of this ATR family. This accessory couples small-area infrared analysis with simultaneous viewing ensuring sampling point and providing image documentation. Imaging of thick or non-transparent samples is no problem as the viewing occurs through the diamond while the sample is illuminated using lighted fiber optics for obtaining quality images. Resistively heated (up to 200 oC) and liquid circulated diamond plates are options.
